How WAN 2.1 fits the workflow
WAN 2.1 is not the first image generator in the workflow. It takes an existing still image and adds motion. The better the source image, the more stable the short video result will be.
Use one camera motion and one or two natural movements. A slow push-in, gentle head turn, hair movement, fabric motion, or small hand gesture is usually better than a complicated action sequence.
Settings, cost and limits for WAN 2.1
WAN 2.1 costs 10 credits per job. The clip length is short; write the motion you want in one or two plain sentences. Large camera moves and fast actions are the most likely to distort faces or hands, so request gentle motion first.
Start from a sharp, well-lit source image: blur, cropped faces and cluttered backgrounds tend to get worse once they move. Hands and fine details such as jewellery can still warp during motion, so watch the whole clip, not just the first frame, before you use it.
When WAN 2.1 is the right choice
Choose it when you already have a finished still image and want a short motion clip from it, for example a slow camera move, hair or fabric movement, or a subtle expression change. It animates your image; it does not create the first frame from text.
